Tips for happier hair and skin

I am very passionated about wellness. I constantly try to improve myself, learn new things every day to be able to give you my best advices in term of hair and skin maintenance. I believe health is a 360° approch. You need to heal yourself internally before to see results externally. Your hair and your skin is an answer of your general health too. Breakouts, grey hair or hairloss for example can be a result of an emotional chox, anxiety or stress, poor diet, hormon and so on. Genetic can have its part too, of course.

I believe that if you find balance in everything in life, you get more peace and more hapiness. Less stres, worries or anxiety so meaning less damage, aches or even deseases.

  1. SLEEP: Does it sound like “?!” ? You read it. SLEEP. It’s probably the most important thing you should improve right now in order to succeed to the following point. Humans spend a third of their life sleeping. Hopefully you feel comfy in your own bed and invested in a good quality cushions and matress. If you are renting, alternatively, you can buy a topper. It’s very important to be out of light and noise as much as possible and get about 8h sleep, or more if you can. Scientists have proved through so many studies that people with less than 7h of sleep have many consequences throughout the day such as: craving junk/comforting food, feeling tired and exhausted and even decrease longevity! People who sleep 8H or more make better decisions and feel less stressed . It’s crutial to rethink and restore yourself as much needed. Making poor diet decisions and feeling stressed or anxious will definitely impact the quality of your skin and your hair

  2. DIET: I am not saying you should eat only clean food but you should 100% eat a variety of all plants for fibers, carbs (preferably whole food, unprocessed), healthy fats (Omega 3 such as salmon, seeds, avocado, nuts…) and proteins (lentils, beans, eggs, poultry…) also vitamin A and C rich food items are very good for hair/skin (such as leafy greens, agrumes, peppers, brocoli…) for a balanced and healthy mind/body. Diet has a HUGE impact, especially on your skin (processed meat, dairy ,high trans fat items etc would easily cause breakouts for ex) If you don’t eat enough thouh you will suffer from hairloss. Make sure to eat all of it , in moderation. Follow your appetite not what your inner voice is saying.

  3. SUPPLEMENTS: Zinc, yeast, silicium, cystine B6, fish oil, spirulina are good options to improve your hair and skin. Make sure to check first with your doctor and do blood test before trying out supplements.

  4. MENTAL HEALTH: Most importantly, are you ok? If not, how can you improve your wellbeing? Stress and anxiety destroy us and we really need to be aware of our emotions and learn how to manage them. Worrying constantly is toxic and create deseases as mentioned earlier. My advice is make sure you are checking with yourself regulary (weekly ideally) how you feel and how to get 1% better each day. Nourish yourself with positive informations instead of Newspapers. We have wanderful tools like books, podcasts and youtube videos to learn how to become more open and feel better. It’s never too late to try. Just write down your thoughts and see if what you say or do is aligned with your deepest values, if your relationships or habits are serving you or holding you back from peace and happiness. Does this person bring me energy/joy or is soaking me, draining me? Does this habit makes me feel energised, positive? And so on! Speak to yourself like you speak to your bestfriend. Be kind with yourself. Allow you some rest and introspection. Self love is the number one most important thing and it is a skill. Nobody is born confident. You just learn how to be the person you want to be and when you ask you all these questions you understand yourself, your needs and communicate much more effectively. And what happens? Your relationships will improve. The number one love of your life is yourself. Nourish yourself with good stuff. Why do I speak about this in a hair tip article? Well, your wellbeing impacts the hair, the skin and you will be less likely to become sick as a bonus. Try to speak to your doctor , go for therapies or read mindfulness books/listen to podcasts to help you get to know you, open up and control your emotions.

  5. HAIRCARE / SKINCARE: That is a very important step to get your skin or hair in a good condition. The more you take care of it, the best results you get. You don’t have to spend a fortune in expensive hair or skin products to obtain results. Regularity is KEY. Make sure to double cleanse your skin, add a serum (literally could be vegetal oils) and a sunscreen at LEAST. once a week a scrub and a mask to detoxify your skin from the polution. Same story with hair. Wash it with a clean ingredients shampoo 2-3 times per week should be more than enough. I started making my own solid bar shampoos, which are organic and free from chemicals, are inexpensive and safe for you. Why not buy one or try to make them yourself!? I sell them on the shop section and explain step by step how to make them on IG TV and REELS section. You should definitely do a conidtioner after each wash and a mask once a week (leave it one hour before doing the shampoo while cleaning/clearing /cooking / dancing/ doing your fav workout) on a sunday for example. It’s very important especially if you have colored or long hair to keep them heallthy. An other thing that can improve both hair and skin is invest into a silk pillow. The cotton is drying out the skin instead of the silk will create less damage to your hair (less friction) and keep your skin less dry.

As you know genetic is a huge part of the quality of our skin and hair. Following these tips won’t probably transform you but will definitely improve the quality. Overall good hygiene and taking care of it with clean products and with regularity will really help you. I hope this article will inspire you to take care of yourself :)

Sending Light & Love,

Wedding beauty prep guide and tips

Laurie & Pete

Wedding can be pretty overwhelming. Multiple things to think and organise in advance! This article will help you as a mini beauty guide to do the right steps at the right time. I obviously won’t talk about the event prep unless that concerns the beauty section :)

Few months before the Wedding:

  • First you need to chose a dress and accessories in which you feel great.

  • Start look up for some hair and make up ideas on pinterest (I strongly recommend to create an account and pin your favorite pictures into your wall. Chose as many as you want even though they are different styles as your stylist will guide you and help you to chose the right look.)

  • Book a few consultations with some Hair/make up artists and bring the ideas that you have in mind.

  • Book a trial. It’s very important to do a trial to make sure the stylist understand your vibe and that you feel good in your skin.

4 to 6 weeks before:

  • Trim the tips and do a deep treatment such as Olaplex

  • Get extensions done if necessary (if you want long hair or more thickness for your wedding day)

Trial day! Try out hair and make up styles that you have in mind. I don’t recommend to do it earlier because you may change your mind in term of styling!

1 to 2 weeks before:

  • Get a color touch up / Highlights to make sure you color looks fresh and the greys are gone !

  • Confirm all your beauty/hair bookings in advance to make sure everything is right

2 to 5 few days before:

  • Get your nails done by a proffesional

  • Lashes/tan/epilation

  • Massage/facial is really good to release all the tensions and give your skin a glow up

  • Get a mini hairspray, few pins for the day D.

24h before:

  • Wash your hair (it’s very important to not wash your hair on the day D as the grips wont hold as much!)

  • Skin care: scrub, face mask

  • Healthy food and plenty of water

Tips for your trial day:

  • Bring the photos that you pinned for hair and make up as well as your dress.

  • Bring the accessories you may wear (hair accessories/veil and jewerlies)

  • Be honest with your stylist. Tell them your vibe, what wedding you expect, and If you don’t love one look or aren’t sure, just tell them so they can arrange it or propose something different

  • Make sure that the wedding day is booked at the right time (tell them what time you have to be ready!)

Hopefully this article will help you understanding the important steps to follow in what order to apply ;) Of course if you have any question you can always what’s app me or email me, I will make sure to reply ASAP!

Have a lovely day,

Lena xxx

I became a hair extension technician with Great Lenghts! :O

I am SO excited to introduce you a new service : Pre Bond Hair extensions !

I have been using Great Lenghts since over 10 years as a client and they honestly changed my life. I tried once an other brand and wasn’t convinced so I decided to follow my dream and get a training with the n1 worldwide leader in the extension market and I believe is THE BEST quality ever and the most natural effect by far comparitively to the other brands I have seen or experienced. In fact they have a natural wave to it the blen perfectly to any type of hair from straight to wavy/curly.

Why add hair extensions?

If you want to add lenghts or/and thickness to your hair

Does it damage ?

No. I have been using it for a long time. My hair is protected by the strand and it actually avoid it to break your hair so I end up having longer hair than usual when I take it off. When you blow dry or brush your hair, you will sensibilise the extension but not your hair which is protected inside the strand. They use a synthetic keratin bond not a glue and we take it off gently with a solution that simply disolve the bond without to damage the hair.

How long does it last and How do I take care of it ?

It last for about 4 months, depending how fast your hair grows. You treat it the way you usually do. A sulfate free shampoo is required ( I would recommend using the GL one) and your regular hair conditioner/mask on the lenghts. You will need to get a hair extension brush to gently untangle hair from roots to ends without damaging the bonding.

Why Great Lenghts?

They are the n°1 worldwide leader on the market, a sustainable brand and 100% Remi Indian hair. They make the difference as “double drawn” extensions which means you get the same thickness from the root to the tips of each strand. Other brands would usually be thiner at the bottom and you would easily need twice the amount of strands to get the same result with GL. They have 43 base colors and 21 fashion colors that we can mix and match to get the most natural result. The hair hasn’t been bleached at any time but treated in a sollution to take off the pigment without to compromise the quality on blond shades.

The cost ?

It really depends if you want to add only thickness or lenghts too. You might need from 25 to 150 strands. 25 locks of 8inches/20cm would be 150 pounds and 150 locks of 18 inches/45cm would be 1125 pounds. I can’t give you a price without to do a consultation. It is a luxurious service using the best quality for an invisible and incredible result.

Have a wanderful day

Lena xx
